This N' That

Grant has gotten a lot of use out of his birthday hat from school.

Here's Grant showing how many fingers old he is. It takes a while, but he gets it!

Finally, the snow was just right for a snowman!

I had to scrounge around in the cupboards for suitable facial features (vanilla wafers for the eyes and raisins for the mouth).

"You mean there's going to be ANOTHER one?"

Uncle Tyler came over on Grant's birthday with presents galore!

Hawaii

Most mornings we walked to the Hyatt for coffee, fed the fish, and looked at the birds and penguins.

Ben, Troy, and I did the "drive to Hana," a very windy and scenic drive that took almost all day.

Troy kept Grant busy on the beach!

Ben and Grant took a ride on the "sugar cane train."

This is back at home. We had just watched "101 Dalmations" and Grant told me he was dressed up to go fight Cruella!

An Early Birthday Party

This morning we went to Grant's joint bday party with the 8 other Jan/Feb birthday kids in his classroom. It was well-planned, but chaotic nonetheless. Grant was a bit wary of it all and had his thumb in his mouth the whole time. In lieu of gifts, each family donated a book to the classroom. We donated "Madeline."

Here is Grant and his friend Charlie.

Grant showed us how he likes to do the dishes.

The reptile man brought snakes!

Here's Grant bustin' a move in his classroom (while one of the mom's plays guitar).

Time for cake!

MOA and a playdate

The carousel never gets old...especially when you ride on an ostrich.

Align Center

This ride cost a dollar and lasted about 10 seconds....but he had to go on it.

I had today off, so after the ultrasound (which we wisely had Grant go to school during) we went for a playdate in Lakeville.

Happy New Year!

We got back into the swing of things last week. Yesterday (Sat.) we all did our own thing--Grant went to Grammy's, Ben went to Treasure Island with Adam, and I visited my friend Kristen in Eau Claire.

Here's Grant and Ben making a giant cupcake with a pan we got for xmas from Mavis. Cool!

The proud baker showing off the finished product.

Grant got this cool gift from Uncle Tyler.

I'm going to TRY to make a post every weekend....so check back next week!

Christmas 2008

Sorry for the long hiatus! Here's some shots from our Christmas vacation, which thankfully, is not over yet! Here's Grandma E and Grant showing off their art projects.

Align CenterUncle Tyler always knows how to find good gifts!

Grant had a ton of fun with Owen (Strei) in Rochester!

A taste of what's to come... (this is Owen's little brother, Ben)

Big brother in-training!

Grant got to spend lots of time with his Granny.

More practice! This is my friend Kristy's little boy, Nolan.

Another opportunity to hold a baby! Grant also got to play with his friend Gabe.

This n' That

Gretta, Grant and I walked to one of the parks the other day. It was so nice and warm out!

This was early last Sat. morning when Ben and Grant were headed to the U of M homecoming.

We now (after 3 months of residing!) have a gray house.

Our landlord says he's going to come in a couple weekends and get the "yard ready for Winter." Sounds good to us!

This is from Oktoberfest.

Unfortunately this is the only picture we got of Grant in his lederhosen. As you can see, he is wearing tights with them... Grandma Erickson thought they'd be warmer than knee socks. He didn't seem to mind! ...plus he's wearing a girl hat.

Grandma & Grandpa Erickson's

Grant keeps busy at his own little table.

The three of us got sticky buns at Auntie M's and then walked around Ruttgers.

Grant showing me a leaf.

The leaves were at their peak last weekend!

Grant had fun at the playground.

A Busy Saturday

We started out the day with a little "monkey jumping on the bed"

Ben is relieved that finally all the pictures have been hung... Grant is eager to help with his own tool set and building knowledge from "Bob the Builder."

We made an impromptu trip to an apple orchard in Wayzata this afternoon! It was beautiful, but we were shocked when we discovered that apples were $25/bag! Admittedly, they are much better apples than ones we've had in the past. Now we just need to make sure we eat them all...

Grant was more interested in eating the apples than picking them.

We were there until early evening--with the sunlight, it was really pretty time to be out there.

A tractor to drive--a dream come true!
