Canterbury Park

Ben has been insisting that I need to see Canterbury Park in Shakopee for some time now, so we headed out there last Thursday evening. Grant thought it was pretty cool--especially when the tractors pulled the starting gate out!

Weekend Fun

Every little kid needs a picture with the fish!

A trip to see the fish of course includes ice cream. BTW, how's Grant going to learn how to put his shoes on if his parents can't even get it right?!

Grant had the privilege of ringing the bell at church. He did a great job and didn't want to stop.

We're going to have to have Lucy sit with us at church every time, because Grant stayed put for almost the whole service!

Lucy is 8 years old and hopes to someday baby-sit Grant. So far her resume includes watching various kinds of animals.

Uncle Michael's Grad Party

Congrats to Uncle Michael on graduating from high school! He and his mom threw a great party complete with one of those blow-up bouncers! In addition, they served the best pancakes I've ever had (that were delivered in style--see below)

Here's Michael opening our gifts--the hat he has on, some "special pens," (code for cigars while Grant was around) and some money to add to his undoubtedly big stash.

Uncle Tyler and Grandpa Bowman seem to have a little surprise for Grant every time he sees them.

Grant thought catching pancakes was tons of fun! Each time he caught one (about every other one) he threw his head back and gave out a good belly laugh.

Here's Ben catching his pancakes--he wasn't as expressive as Grant, but he had fun. :-)

There were only three kids at the party, but Michael and his friends also had fun in this thing.

Cool sky, eh?!

Unfortunately this one turned out a little blurry, but it's still cute.

Bath Badly Needed!

We had another fun day today. Ben and Grant walked to McDonald's for pancakes this morning (Grant likes to pick his up to eat them--no butter or syrup) and gave me a little time to myself. Then we went to a Lebanon Hills playground (a huge park in Eagan that has many miles of trails that wind around several lakes).

Ben spent the afternoon at a Grand Old Days party; Grant, Teens and I met up with him later on. Auntie Teens was a good auntie and got Grant ready for bed for us. BTW, even though Grant's "privates" are partially covered up by Curious George, Ben thought he should do some editing...this is what he came up with.

Here's Superman preparing for a hard night of work. Have to get that cape on just right, Auntie!

Is this Superman intimidating, or what?!

It's June!

Yesterday we got off our butts and out to enjoy one of the many summer events in the cities. We went to the Children's Festival held in Rice Park/Landmark Plaza/Ordway Center. There was great music and lots of people out (too many to try some of the ethnic food unfortunately).

Grant is hoping Grandpa Erickson will be creating one of these for him next weekend. :-)

Here's Grant anxiously awaiting the first parade float.

Grant and I went to a drum show at the Ordway that was really good. He loved it...until he fell asleep that is. Ben hung out at Starbucks while were there. Here we are walking past The Rivercentre on our way to Cosetta's.

Enjoying a cold one at Cosetta's. :-)
