Easter Fun

Today after ECFE, Evy dyed some easter eggs and put up window clings. I'll have to get up a picture of the finished product. When she saw them she said, "oh, gorgeous!"

On Wednesday we will be having a fence put in! Which means that the lovely view of the neighbors yard will be no longer. And my summer with three kids will be super easy.

On Saturday we went to the "Spring Party" at the community center. Evy and I split from Ben and Grant, so that's why there's more photos of Evy. They had lots of fun doing an egg hunt, going in a bouncy house, and doing a fish pond. We never did get to see the easter bunny though, so we're hoping to run in to him in San Diego.

Is it Really March?

Here's Evy in her everday get-up (princess dress, backpack, and purse--no matter where we are going). I asked her to stand in front of our neighbor's tree to show the blossoms that are out in MARCH!

I'm having trouble getting my text to go where I want it...hence the randomness. The second picture was taken today when we had a new friend and her 2 kids over to play. Evy got to hold baby Tate 3 times! And then we have some shots to show that the leather jackets have reappeared. Grant said he looks like a "hot shot" in his.

Vacation Anticipation

Evy and I had a really nice day today. After ECFE we went to Once Upon a Child where we picked her up some sundresses and jelly sandals. Afterwards we had a nice lunch at Perkins. Later on, while Grant was playing with his friend Declan (and Evy was being excluded) we had a fashion show and I taught her some new poses. Then I let her take some pics. and she got this shot of me and my growing belly.

Winnipeg & Grandma's visit

Here's me, Megan, and Reuben (3 1/2 months).

And now a shot with the Dad, Jeff.

Megan loves being a mom and is great at it. Reuben is really smiley, sweet, and fun to cuddle with!

Here's a shot of the old house on Hagen Drive.

Kristine did way better taking pictures when mom was here...but here's one action shot.

Grandma Erickson (as Evy calls her) tried hard to get Evy interested in hair accessories by wearing them herself...but it didn't work.

I think her hair looks pretty darn cute here though... She is talking to Auntie Teens who sometimes calls on her way to work. They sing Wheels on the Bus.

The hello kitty rainboots have been brought out!

Here's Grant with one of his latest toy crazes..."go-gos." He used his birthday money from Granny to buy these collector tins. The game you play with them is similir to marbles.

Fun in Februrary

Evy and I went on a walk the other day. She found a good stick and met a cat named Checkers. Don't worry, the cat isn't in her backpack.

Evy thinks that I look like I'm having so much FUN being pregnant, that she wants to try it herself.

When you have sun in Minnesota you have to soak it up! And yes, Grant is still sucking his thumb...

Grant showing off his completed homework. He is now getting homework every Thursday and it's due on Monday.

Happy 6th Birthday Grant!!!

Today is a big day...Grant's birthday AND the 100th day of kindergarten! Grant had to wear 100 of something on his shirt today. Ben came up with the great idea of using candles! So of course that's what I was doing this morning at 6:30. :-)

Birthday waffles!

And here's one of Evy on her way to kidspark (the drop-in daycare we sometimes use). Doesn't she look like a big girl in her first pony tail?! And we're proud to announce that Evy is now potty trained!! Growing up....

Evy never travels light...she often has a grocery bag with some kind of dress-up outfit in it (you know, just in case) and on this day she brought along her hello kitty nail polish and lip gloss (in a nice bag provided by Grandma).

Gobble Gobble

It is unfortunate when Kristine can't take pictures for us because this is what happens. Whenever I take Evy's picture she yells "no pictures!" The point of the picture is to show off our fruit turkey creation. Grant pretty much just ate the grapes and cheese instead of any of Mavis' delicious turkey or stuffing.

It was Evy's idea to "sit on lap" and kind big brother complied.

Here's a shot of Evy after coming home from "Kid's Hair." Her cut makes it much easier to get her hair to curl. Yay!

I had to take a picture of this because I knew it would probably not happen again, although I was quite good at french braiding my cabbage patch doll's hair.

And so it begins...

We had fun out in the snow on Saturday night.

On Sunday we went over to Grandpa and Uncle Ward's old sledding hill next to the Highland Park Library.

Evy was not interested in sledding (or being in a picture) but she played at the playground

Grant has been doing lots of writing at home. Now he just needs to learn "baby."

I picked these trees up at Home Depot. In addition, we even have our wreath up aleady! It was delivered by some Highland Catholic parent's.

I don't want to brag, but we were the first on the block to get out and shovel!

November thus far

Evy has been voicing her wish to ride on a bus for the past month ("Evy do that!") so we compromised and took a trip on the light rail. We went downtown for lunch. Evy was very impressed!

We had lunch at Macy's but neither kid ate what we bought them so we hit the hot dog stand on the way out. Great parenting, huh?

Grant wanted me to take this picture of his lego creation and send it into the Lego Jr. magazine.

Evy got a new princess helmet! Auntie didn't have one, but we still let her go for a bike ride.

Evy was so tired of Gretta threatening to take her food that today she demanded to eat in her bedroom. She promtly slammed the door after her food was delivered.

Como Zoo Boo

Grant helped me out with the captions for these:

"Batman catches the crook!"

"Star wars meets the hero!"

"I really like guns sometimes"

"The super friends hero up!"

"Supergirl to the rescue!"
