Spaceman Grant (Buzz's assistant)

Grant received this great space suit in the mail from Grammy Mavis today. We had to open it and put it right on when we got home from school!

This was taken several weeks ago. We had the fire department come out because our carbon monoxide detector was going off. Yep...it was just a low battery.

This was also back in mid-August on Grant's last day at "Auntie Jenna's Daycare."

We're almost done with week 2 of our new schedule. Grant has had no problem adjusting to daycare and is pulling us out the door in the morning. He seems to really like his teachers.

Ben has been burning the midnight oil doing homework. I usually do some of my planning at night while he's studying, so it works out fine.

Big Day at School!

Now ALL the Bowmans are going to school! Grant and I made it through our first day just fine.

Ben dropped Grant off bright and early--7 a.m. I picked him up at 12:45 and he was having a great time.

This is on our way home from the lake last Sunday.

This is at a friend's house last week.

What we've been up to...

We've been spending lots of quality time with Granny.

....and Uncle Tyler.

We've been enjoying our new house.

Gretta has been especially enjoying Grant's bed.

Saint Louis Park

Hello again! Sorry for the long break... Here's some shots of our new place--which we love! Grant is in charge of plants....

The hose provides hours of fun... Still hanging on to those dang pink swim diapers!

This is one serious gardener...

Finally Grant gets to use this gem that we found at a garage sale in June (but had no space to play with it in).

I'd say about 25% of Grant's hose time goes to the plants.

Here's a shot from last weekend--this is Grandpa Jerry's motorcycle!

Our new address is 2746 Kentucky Ave S Saint Louis Park, MN 55426 (no more of that annoying P.O. Box). I'll put up some inside pictures soon--Grant's room is the best part! BTW, he had his first night in his "big boy bed" last night--he slept fine all night long.

Grant's First Fish

Don't tell anyone...but my mom and dad have a bunch of bass at the end of their dock... Here's Grant's first catch--doesn't he look impressed?! Since Grant calls all the fish "Nemo" we figured we'd better throw him back in.

Grant had a sleepover at Grandpa Bowman's when we were up 2 weekends ago!

Here's Grant driving the golf cart at Church Island.

Lucy came over and read several stories to Grant the other weekend. Grant must have wanted to protect her privacy because when I took this picture he was saying "stop the camera!"

We don't have any recent pictures to post because Grant broke the camera...but the new one just came so we should be up and running again soon.

Canterbury Park

Ben has been insisting that I need to see Canterbury Park in Shakopee for some time now, so we headed out there last Thursday evening. Grant thought it was pretty cool--especially when the tractors pulled the starting gate out!

Weekend Fun

Every little kid needs a picture with the fish!

A trip to see the fish of course includes ice cream. BTW, how's Grant going to learn how to put his shoes on if his parents can't even get it right?!

Grant had the privilege of ringing the bell at church. He did a great job and didn't want to stop.

We're going to have to have Lucy sit with us at church every time, because Grant stayed put for almost the whole service!

Lucy is 8 years old and hopes to someday baby-sit Grant. So far her resume includes watching various kinds of animals.

Uncle Michael's Grad Party

Congrats to Uncle Michael on graduating from high school! He and his mom threw a great party complete with one of those blow-up bouncers! In addition, they served the best pancakes I've ever had (that were delivered in style--see below)

Here's Michael opening our gifts--the hat he has on, some "special pens," (code for cigars while Grant was around) and some money to add to his undoubtedly big stash.

Uncle Tyler and Grandpa Bowman seem to have a little surprise for Grant every time he sees them.

Grant thought catching pancakes was tons of fun! Each time he caught one (about every other one) he threw his head back and gave out a good belly laugh.

Here's Ben catching his pancakes--he wasn't as expressive as Grant, but he had fun. :-)

There were only three kids at the party, but Michael and his friends also had fun in this thing.

Cool sky, eh?!

Unfortunately this one turned out a little blurry, but it's still cute.

Bath Badly Needed!

We had another fun day today. Ben and Grant walked to McDonald's for pancakes this morning (Grant likes to pick his up to eat them--no butter or syrup) and gave me a little time to myself. Then we went to a Lebanon Hills playground (a huge park in Eagan that has many miles of trails that wind around several lakes).

Ben spent the afternoon at a Grand Old Days party; Grant, Teens and I met up with him later on. Auntie Teens was a good auntie and got Grant ready for bed for us. BTW, even though Grant's "privates" are partially covered up by Curious George, Ben thought he should do some editing...this is what he came up with.

Here's Superman preparing for a hard night of work. Have to get that cape on just right, Auntie!

Is this Superman intimidating, or what?!

It's June!

Yesterday we got off our butts and out to enjoy one of the many summer events in the cities. We went to the Children's Festival held in Rice Park/Landmark Plaza/Ordway Center. There was great music and lots of people out (too many to try some of the ethnic food unfortunately).

Grant is hoping Grandpa Erickson will be creating one of these for him next weekend. :-)

Here's Grant anxiously awaiting the first parade float.

Grant and I went to a drum show at the Ordway that was really good. He loved it...until he fell asleep that is. Ben hung out at Starbucks while were there. Here we are walking past The Rivercentre on our way to Cosetta's.

Enjoying a cold one at Cosetta's. :-)
